What's In This Website? This website is devoted to a listing and description of films with a transgender content; that means crossdressing, or transsexuality in one form or another. The "transgender" content might be anything from a film devoted to the biography of a transgendered person, to a very brief shot of a drag queen in a bar. There are quite a few films in the list ... over 4,000. I've personally seen and reviewed about 2,600 of them. I hear about two or three new candidates for the list every month, and they go on the list until I can see them myself; sometimes this is straight away, and in several cases it might take a very long time. When I do eventually see the film, I add a review. The list is mostly confined to feature films, but I have included a few television documentaries where they are authoritative enough, and a very small number of series (like soaps) where there is a special, out-of-the-ordinary, reason. SpoilersThe descriptions and reviews of films on this list inevitably give away some of the suspense element of watching a film for the first time. If that is an issue for you, don't read my review until you've seen the film. On the page where I list the films alphabetically, I give a very brief outline of the transgender element of the film; you might prefer to use that as a halfway house. It's up to you. Titles, and LanguagesThe film titles are shown in the original language, and for non-English films I repeat the title used for the English version of the film if there is one. The title used for a foreign language version is often not a direct translation, and the most reliable source for checking titles is the Internet Movie Database; the URL is at the bottom of this page. AKA and *The acronym "aka" stands for "also known as". It was originally used in the UK to cite alternative names used by suspected criminals, in a similar way to the word "alias". It has become widely known outside police circles now, and I use it to indicate alternative titles of films. In the alphabetical listings pages I indicate some films with an asterisk (*); this means that I have completed my listing for that film. In the case of films not marked in this way, I am still looking for more information or a better image.
