I'm Hazel Freeman. I live near Cambridge, England. In the picture at the right, I'm at Manchester Airport. I love travel and I'm always interested in visiting new places.

In 1997 -- now a long time ago -- I thought it would be useful to set up a directory of all the films that had some transgender content. This Guide is the result. I started off with about thirty titles, culled from other people's lists, and I scoured the television listings to actually see them, and record some brief comments about them, and get a screen capture. And of course I kept my eyes open for a hint, in newspapers and in transgender chat lists, of a relevant film that wasn't yet on my list.

In those days, you recorded from television onto vhs tapes, and the capture technology was primitive too. But the list of "candidate" films grew faster than I could get to see the films I already had on the list. I started buying tapes, and later dvd's, of the more obscure films that I thought might never make it to television, and more recently I have subscribed to a mail order dvd rental service.

But now, near the end of 2011, it is time to move on, and someone else is taking over to maintain -- and extend and improve -- the site. I wish her well.
