A provincial French girl, Zazie, goes to stay with her Uncle (Philippe Noiret) in Paris while her Mother stays with her boyfriend.
The film follows all sort of surreal events during the weekend, mostly caused by the mischievous Zazie, but it's all pretty innocent, as the film was made in 1959. Zazie was played by Catherine Demongeot, and she is winningly precocious in the film, but her career never took off in adulthood.
The uncle is a drag artiste, but although we see him take part in a brief rehearsal, we never actually see him dressed.
