Yellowbeard (1988)

Queen Anne speaks A Monty Python style of comedy film based on pirate adventures. They had a lot of trouble financing the making of the film; there are plenty of well-known comedy names on the cast list, but the film has sunk without trace; just not enough that was new, and a fairly uninspired script; a pity.

Yellowbeard, a pirate, has served twenty years in prison and is now going to be released; the authorities hope that he will lead them to his stashed treasure.

Peter Bull plays a rather absent Queen Anne.


Feldman in disguise Later Marty Feldman is in improbable female disguise, for cover. Also on a Naval ship, one of the officers is introduced as Mr Prostitute, played by Greta Blackburn.

It's a shame -- a great opportunity missed.
