The Wig (2005, Korea)

I am not a man any more A difficult and slow psychodrama horror film. There are two sisters; one has lost her ability to speak after a road accident; the other is terminally ill with leukemia. When she goes home from the cancer hospital, her sister gets her a long black wig, which turns out to be enchanted.

It rapidly reverses the ravages of the leukemia, but only as long as the girl wears it all the time. And increasingly we start to see evil effects of the wig.

In a sudden lurch of theme about three-quarters of the way through the film, we see that the other sister's boyfriend was probably gay in the past, but that his boyfriend died in a fall from a building. Now the girl with leukemia confronts him, saying that she is actually the boyfriend, transformed into this female form.
