Without Warning (1980)

A science fiction film in which jellyfish fly through the air and attack you.

Darby Hinton plays the son -- in the credits that's all his character gets described as -- of an obsessive open air father, and is described in a reference book as an effeminate man. I think this is a bit strong; he is just unwilling to go full-bloodedly after his father's pursuits.
