Wild Zero (2000, Japan)

Tobio sees the alien spacecraft A strange sci-fi film; several different groups of people are travelling, and become involved when aliens land in a space ship and convert a lot of people into zombies. Immediately prior to this a man tries to rob a petrol station, and a young man, Ace, saves the day. He befriends Tobio, a girl bystander.

When a friendship seems to be developing between them, he suddenly turns melancholy, and she takes her top off to show that she is a transsexual. He is horrified, but he eventually comes round and they seem to live happily afterwards.


A subliminal image? This is a film made for lovers of heavy rock music, and the f-word is used in the subtitles more than you usually see. At the moment of Ace's realisation, this strange image is shown for a couple of frames.
