West of the Pecos (1945)

Rill finds tries on her new outfit Despite the early date, this is a western with a story and some fine acting.

Colonel Lambeth takes his daughter Rill (Barbara Hale) with him on a trip out west, and gets involved in some lawlessness. Finding herself the target of what we would nowadays call harassment, Rill buys some men's clothes and adopts a male role for much of the film. It's well enough done, and an entertaining film too.
