Wenn die tollen Tante kommen (1970, Germany)

Waiting for a lift A fab swinging sixties semi-musical film; Rudi Carrell and the boney Ilja Richter manage to wangle a holiday in Bavaria; they are swimming and they lose their clothes when a farm tractor mowing grass cuts them up. How are they to get back to their digs? Luckily a passing lorry drops off a trunk by mistake, and it contains girls' clothes. They put the clothes on and a passing driver soon stops to give them a lift. Two young boys observe this and one says, "If that's what women are like, I'm never getting married!"

The man with the car takes them to a hotel, where they are mistaken for very important guests, and given the best room. They spend three-quarters of the film dressed.

In the picture they are waiting for a lift.

The film has been released in North America under the title When the Mad Aunts Are Coming, which just goes to prove that you shouldn't attempt a word-for-word translation.
