Chris Morley
A routine police thriller surrounding a man who was unjustly convicted of murder, a long time ago. Now he has finally been released he has difficulty in coming to terms with the world.

In order to justify all that, the first two minutes of the film show Chris Morley, credited as "Man/Woman". He is in his room in a cheap boarding house, applying rather over-the-top make-up ... in fact we might guess that the character is a drag queen at this stage. There is a banging at the door -- it's the police. Morley takes a very large handgun from a drawer and starts to get away down the outside fire escape. In case we still think Chris is really a lady, his big-hair wig gets caught in the window catch at this stage, revealing a shorter, but still ambiguous hairstyle.

But the police had thought of that, and it isn't long before Morley is dead, shot by a police bullet. When his property is catalogued, it evidently consists of expensive jewellery stolen over a long period, including the jewellery supposed to have been stolen by the innocent man, you see. As Chris is a transvestite (although no description of this kind is used in the film) he coveted vast amounts of jewellery to keep for himself.
