They Got Me Covered (1943)

Vanescu in Lamour's clothing
A very funny Bob Hope comedy set during World War 2; Hope is an inept newspaper reporter and Germany has just invaded Russia, contrary to his prediction in the newspaper. However the raised tension gives rise to espionage activity by the Germans. When Gregory Vanescu (John Abbott) arrives at Hope's office with a scoop story, he is under threat of assassination by enemy agents. In fact they take a shot at him from an adjacent building. How is he to leave the premises safely? The only thing is for Hope's secretary (played by Dorothy Lamour) to shed some clothes, and for Vanescu to slip away in female disguise.

Hope at the beauty salon
Later in the film, Hope himself is being chased. There is a beauty parlour in a New York building, and Hope's only way of escape is to pretend to be a customer, in face-pack and robe. The enemy agents are fooled at first, but Hope bumps into a good-looking woman in the corridor and wolf-whistles after her, giving the game away.

All good stuff; excellent humour.
