Tabula rasa (2006, Germany)

On teh television show
In a rather dark short film, a dysfunctional couple, David (Thierry van Werveke) and Lotte (Anna Windmüller) are having an argument; she has found a strange woman's purse with used cinema ticket stubs in it. Assuming he has been out with another woman, she starts throwing crockery at him, and then in his imagination he is on one of those awful television shows where people parade their marital difficulties in front of an audience.

He suddenly sees himself wearing a dress, but it seems to be the same dress as his wife wears, and nothing is explained.

Back at the house they are still rowing and the riot police come and break the door down; we see the two of them on the floor, with the riot police standing over them, and they are both wearing the same dress.

The title refers to the blank slate that we are supposed to be born with, and empty mind to be structured according to our experiences in the world.
