Todo sobre mi Madre (1999, Spain)

An award winning film by Pedro Almodóvar, I found it poignant and even a bit weepy.

It follows the stories, mostly sad, of several women; two of them have relationships (and mixed affections) with pre-op transsexuals. Their partners aren't always faithful, and there's a lot of HIV about, and life is generally hard. Nonetheless I found the film gripping and moving, if a little slow.

The English title is All About My Mother.
