Sailor's Sweetheart (1926)
Cynthia Botts, an ungainly and awkward spinster who operates a girls' school, inherits the fortune of Doolittle, the school patron, and plans a trip to Hawaii to snare a husband. On the day of her departure, she secretly marries Mark Krisel, supposedly a prominent banker, but whom she discovers to be a bigamist. In a struggle with Krisel she collides with Sandy, a little Scotch sailor, and the two fall into the ocean; they are picked up by rumrunners who are later captured by prohibition officers; though handcuffed together, they manage to escape. At Cynthia's apartment, she dresses Sandy in woman's attire when they are about to be discovered by Professor Meekham; then she introduces him as her husband when Krisel arrives to claim his wife; but Krisel is exposed as Claudette's husband, and Cynthia claims Sandy as her future husband.
