The Scarlet Pimpernel (1934)

Sir Percy as an old woman
Leslie Howard is the Scarlet Pimpernel, an English aristocrat who risks his life to rescue French noblemen and their families, under the reign of terror in revolutionary France.

Although the screenplay is now very dated, it's a gripping tale.

Early in the film, the Pimpernel dresses (not very convincingly, I thought) as an old hag to escape the Frenchies.
