Sailors Beware (1927)

A Laurel and Hardy silent; a woman jewel thief is on a luxury liner with her husband, a man of restricted growth called Roger, played by Harry Earles, 25 years old at the time of this film.

I wrote earlier that "Roger is dressed as a baby girl, from the buttoning on the baby clothes, although I accept that this is a fine point".

However I have now seen a better print, and also printed references that suggest the child was presented as a little boy.

Earles was remarkably small, and lived to be 83, including (as you may have guessed) appearing as a Munchkin in the Wizard of Oz.
