Repo Man (1984)
An interesting film about a young man who becomes a "repo man", repossessing cars where the owner owes money. It's played in a surreal way with some supernatural events, and the film-makers obviously intended it to achieve cult status, by including numerous allusions to other films and events. It didn't quite make cult status, but it's an interesting film.
In conversation among a group of street dwellers, one of them says that John Wayne was a fag. He justifies this by saying that once he was called to install one-way mirrors at Wayne's house, and he came to the door wearing a dress. A rambling discussion follows, but there is nothing to justify the claim.
In the credits, Logan Carter plays "Repo Wife #3". While nos 1 and 2 are easy to identify, it is not clear who no 3 was, and there is no such character in a published transcript of the dialogue. Logan Carter has performed as a heavily groomed drag queen, and I think this is the character on the left in this scene, fairly late in the film. The use of a drag queen to play a woman might be another example of the film-makers attempting to get the film into the cult lists.
