Reflection of Fear (1971)

Marguerite in a flimsy dress Sondra Locke plays Marguerite; her father disappeared from the scene a long time ago, but now suddenly he is back, with a new girlfriend. Marguerite is being brought up by her mother and grandmother, and she wears elaborate lace blouses and short skirts, and she has imaginary friends as she doesn't go to a school and doesn't associate with other children. We know that Marguerite is emotionally and sexually disturbed, and it's obvious that the father's arrival is going to disrupt things. We aren't really surprised (because of the creepy music and photography) when grandmother gets killed.

At the very end of the film, we discover from a taped telephone message with a government office that Marguerite was born as a boy. But there has been no overt reference to this previously, and there is no visual image.
