Rat Race (2001)

A male Lucille Ball
A worthy successor to "It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World". A sample of the action? Well, this man is trying to get back a safe deposit key from someone who is clinging to a cow that has caught its leg in a rope dangling from a hot-air balloon, so he squirts the man with milk by squeezing its teat.

John Cleese is a rich and eccentric hotel owner who sets up a race between nine ordinary people so that his rich clients can bet on the race.

One of the competitors loses his transportation, so he hijacks a coach so as to get to the goal. The coach is carrying a party load of Lucille Ball lookalikes on their way to a convention. One of them, played by Christopher Peterson, asks about the possibility of a rest stop, but our hero, anxious to lose no time, asks her to use the lavatory at the back of the bus. But she protests that the lock is broken.

"So what --- you ain't got anything that the other Lucy's ain't seen already."

[in deep voice] "Not necessarily."

The ambiguous bar waiter
There are three previous references; one of the competitors is chatting up a strange girl who is reading a biography of Lindbergh, the flyer. He claims that the book refers to Lindbergh's intention to have a sex-change. A few minutes later, the girl says she is a flyer herself, and he asks how many female flyers there are. Well, she says, there's at least one. Later he comes back with the line that there might be two, if you include Lindbergh. This little sequence is played just for the laugh, so don't let's start any rumours about Lindbergh.

In the opening moments of the film, one of the characters asks at the cocktail bar for another drink:

"Miss, can I have another one of these please?"

The bar waiter turns and looks rather masculine.

"Oh sorry, I thought you were a woman".

"I am a woman". (Carrie Diamond).

And finally, when Rowan Atkinson's character introduces himself, for some reason he says "My name is Enrico; maybe you think that is a woman's name ...?"
