Quattro mosche di velluto grigio (1971, Italy)

Daft plot, terrible acting, poor lighting, useless script, all the elements needed for a successful art film. The plot follows a series of murders surrounding the hero, a rock musician. His housekeeper Nina (Mimsy Farmer) had a bad childhood, leading to her present unstable state: she was brought up by her father as a boy, she confesses at the end. Plenty of flashbacks in the film, but not to this actual situation.

The English language version is called Four Flies on Grey Velvet.
