Queen Christina (1933)

Classic Garbo; Christina becomes Queen of Sweden when her father dies, and for reasons of state she dresses in a rather masculine way, sometimes. The critics say that there are heavy lesbian overtones in the film, but this farewell kiss (left) is the only actual sequence and the rest is rather tame.

Mel has pointed out the following dialogue:

An advisor asks, "Do you wish to die an old maid?"

Chistina replies, "On the contrary, I intend to die a bachelor."
