Perry Mason Returns (1985)

The killer in action A sequel to the long-running courtroom drama series. Perry Mason is a skilled defence lawyer, and most of the episodes involved a seemingly open-and-shut case against someone; Mason then pulls a surprise defence argument out of nowhere in court, and the wrongly accused person goes free, to the chagrin of the prosecuting law team.

In this one-off film, Mason is now a judge and his former secretary, Della Street is now working as the personal assistant to an industrialist. A man has decided to kill the industrialist, and to frame Della Street by wearing her clothes -- taken from her home -- and leaving traces of her clothing and jewellery at the scene, and arranging to be seen by staff at the house.

Robert Hunter in court Mason decides that the only person able to defend Della Street satisfactorily is himself, so he resigns his position as judge to resume his role as defence attorney. To prove the possibility of mistaken identity by an apparently unshakeable eye witness, Mason brings a transvestite into court.

He is introduced as Robert Hunter, a professional Hollywood stuntman.
