Pay As You Exit (1926)

Juliet is wooed by Romeo The "Our Gang" series was a piece of classic Americana in which the adventures of a group of small children appeared in short films. It is interesting that for such an early date there is little racism or sexism expressed.

The children are putting on a theatrical entertainment, but the little girl who was playing Juliet has decided to leave, because Romeo has been eating spring onions and his breath smells. A boy, Buckwheat, is persuaded to stand in as Juliet.
