Sean is a young man who has been brought up in a loving but rather crazy family. Now, on Christmas Day, he has to introduce his girlfriend Lissa to the family and he is not looking forward to it. The film branches off into little episodes about the difficulties of each of the family members, and this makes for a rather disjointed and difficult film.
Sean's brother James (Stevie J.) has a new fiancée, the very masculine transvestite Sheila (Marque d'Marco). At the Christmas Day party, no-one seems to have noticed, incredibly, until the father tries to dab off some spilled drink from Sheila's lower abdomen, and he is amazed and horrified to find male genitalia there. Sheila made no effort to deflect his attentions to that part of her body. The father wants to throw her out, and this leads to a scene along the lines of "If she has to go then I will go too". This device is so crude and basic that I found it insulting that it was included; Sheila only appears in the film briefly, just enough to allow this episode to take place.
The film has also been released as Kinfolks.
