The Playhouse (1921)

Keaton plays a man and a woman in a theatre box
A very funny Buster Keaton film; by 1921 he had refined his surreal form of comedy. In an opening fantasy sequence, he plays all the characters in a music hall (variety theatre). This was no mean technical feat in 1921, with nine people, all played by him, on stage.

The audience is also played by him; here a couple are in a box.

Now playing an old woman and a boy
Here an old lady has taken her badly behaved grandson to the theatre -- both played by Keaton.

Another couple at the theatre
Here a well dressed couple are in another box.

Great fun.
