Prêt à Porter (1994, France)

At the buffet table
A frenetic film about the frenetic world of a haute couture fashion show in Paris. Considerable realism is brought into this long film, including several of the top couturiers playing themselves. The French Minister of Fashion is killed at the beginning of the film, but this tragedy does not seem to slow down the show.

In a brief scene late in the film, some crossdressers are in a hotel restaurant on the periphery of the show. I think that feminine body language needs a bit of attention.

A discussion in progress
There is a discussion going on about whether there is a fundamental difference between a man who prefers female clothing and a transvestite.

The film has been released as Ready to Wear.
