Pigalle (1994)

Blanca Li in Pigalle
Pigalle is the infamous Parisian "Times Square" that is home to pimps, pushers, junkies, whores, transvestites, drag queens, gay hustlers, and the army of criminals that prey upon them. In this nocturnal world of bleeding neon lights and torn net stockings we find a raffish cast of characters led by Fifi (Francis Renaud), a handsome pickpocket, who ricochets between Vera (Vera Briole), a sexy redheaded peep show dancer, Divine (Blanca Li), a transvestite prostitute who desires Fifi's physical abuse, and Fernande, a wrinkled old cabaret performer who protects him when his world comes crashing down. Fifi also is taking advantage of and being seduced by Fernande (Raymond Gil), an aging drag queen and owner of a small cabaret. When warring drug clans fight over the district's turf, it leads to a meltdown of the precarious balance that Fifi has maintained and brings bitter tragedy to the Place Pigalle.
