Strange and slow film about intertwined relationships and affairs in New York bars and elsewhere. Most of the people involved seem intent on making their own lives worse than before, somehow.
Hugh has ended up in a club where a drag queen singer is performing, and he goes to the bar on his own and orders a drink. Lana, also a drag queen joins him and listens to his problems. Lana is played by Alec Mapa. She explains at once that she is a drag queen ... "I didn't want there to be no Crying Game confusion".
There is a drag queen singer miming in full swing when this sequence starts. This is David Ferguson.
Then another one takes over; this is Worthie Meacham.
Over the opening titles there is a sort of rap song; part of the lyric is:
I woke up again this morning with the sun in my eyes
When Mike came over, with a script surprise
A mafioso story with a twist
A To Wong Foo Julie Newmar hitch ...
