Once Bitten (1985)

A sort of modern-day vampire story set in Los Angeles, with a young Jim Carrey.

Fairly early in the film, there's a scene in one of those clubs where you can phone other tables to try and pick someone up. One of the heroes rings table seventeen, and discovers that the girl of his dreams isn't what he thought.

Alan McRae is credited as "Man in Drag".
