Navy Blues (1941)

The two sailors in a hula dance
Jack Haley and Jack Oakie are two sailors who joined up to see the world, and they haven't seen much of it yet. The film is set as a light comedy, with plenty of incidental glamour, dancing and singing.

When their warship docks at Honolulu, they are determined to make the most of it, without much money. After a misunderstanding involving pawned property, they are on the run from the ship's officers. Taking refuge in what seems to be a Hawaiian village, there is a dancing festival in progress. But with the authorities close behind them, they realise that the only thing is to dress in hula costumes and take part in the all-female dance.

Back in town still in costume
Inevitably they are spotted and they run for it. The next we see of them is back in town, still in their Hawaiian dancing-girl costume.
