Norang meori 2 (2001, South Korea)

Ri-Su in the store
A dramatised semi-factual account of the lives of three characters, including a transsexual J, played by Ha Ri-Su, a famous real-life Korean transsexual. Her story climaxes when she is buying alcohol at a small convenience store. The proprietor has been suffering from fraudulent passing of cheques in payment, and when Ri-Su offers a cheque, he asks her for identification. Her frustration at her difficulties with her official identity documentation boils over and she assaults him.

But we see the same story played out from the perspective of other people, and suddenly the plot, and everyone's motivations, are much more complicated.

The film was also released as Yellow Hair.
