Nomads (1986)

Lesley Ann Downs materialises in the Frenchman's bedroom A French anthropologist returns from Africa with his wife, and starts to track the similarities with urban America; however the bikers he is watching may be watching him instead.

The film starts with the anthropolgist in the emergency department of a hospital, having been beaten up. He manages to pass on his thoughts somehow to Lesley Ann Down, playing a doctor in the hospital, and she then revisits his recent past thorough him. We are never quite sure what is real and what is imagined, and the script is challenging to follow.
