Stephen Parker, played by Chad Lowe is a college student who is infatuated with the star of the women's tennis team, but he has been warned off by her boyfriend, who is far more muscular than Stephen. Stephen's friend has the ideal solution: Stephen should pretend to be a girl at the college, and when he gets close to his heroine, so the theory goes, he will tire of her and he can resume normal life.
The plan goes ahead, and they hack into the college's computer system to give the new Stephanie a fake background, and lo and behold, Stephanie ends up sharing a room with the girl of his dreams.
This is a teenagers' film, so all the routine giggly topics crop up like periods, and showering with the girls' team. The film has no pretensions to anything other than a light entertaining story, and at that level it succeeds.
The title is from the closing words of Some Like It Hot.
