A moving and convincing biography of the classic French singer Édith Piaf - "La Môme" (the Pretty Girl).
Marion Cotillard makes an excellent job of portraying the singer thoughout her life -- she died at 47 -- and her role is sung by Jil Aigrot. The sense of the period is excellently portrayed -- production design by Olivier Raoux.
The credits include Olivier Carbone as "Transvestite", but I couldn't see an obvious character for this -- unless this person with a feminine figure and a slight moustache counts. Carbone is better known as a casting director and he may have given himself a very small part here.
Also released as La vie en rose and The Passionate Life of Édith Piaf.
