Maid (2004, Thailand)

A spoof action/comedy film from Thailand; the title stands for "Mission Almost Impossible Done" from the director of Iron Ladies I & II.

The film parodies both Mission Impossible and Charlie's Angels but stays just close enough to Thai social realities to give its comedy an edge. Secret policeman Prasert, having lost a skilled team of operatives disguised as gardeners and cocktail waitresses, recruits two raucous, uneducated country women, Maew and Jim, to work undercover. They are to pose as maids in the swanky home of frozen-food magnate Sophon (he has a very proper English wife, Emma), to bug his phones and collect evidence of the bribes he pays to corrupt politicians to advance his business plans. Many things go wrong, but the covert operation comes to fruition during a trip to Chieng Mai.

When the maids escort their employers to a swanky party, they are segregated to an outdoor patio where they gossip about the their employers to the other maids. Maew remarks how her employer's wife has entered menopause and has "dried up" and never buys or uses tampons. Prasert overhears the gossiping maids and decides to recruit Maew and Jim to go undercover for him.

In the climactic fight/escape scene, Maew is fighting with the villainess, who turns out to be the wife of their boss Prasert. The wife has kept this secret from him and reveals him/herself to Maew by using his male voice.
