Man on the Box (1925)

Dressed as the maid
Bob Warburton (played by Syd Chaplin), is a wealthy young bachelor. He falls in love with Betty Annesley and, in order to be near her, talks himself into a job as her father's gardener. Betty learns of his deception and, to teach him a lesson, insists that he serve at table for an important luncheon. Bob refuses, and Count Karaloff offers the loan of his butler. Bob learns that Badkoff, the butler, is an enemy agent assigned to steal the plans for a helicopter from Betty's father, Colonel Annesley.

Dressed as the maid
Disguising himself, Bob poses as a maid from an employment agency and protects the plans. Bob and Betty are later married. In the second picture, the real housekeeper lets her disapproval show.
