Four male friends are out for an evening on the town, and they end up at a small night club. An attractive woman does an erotic dance on stage, and everyone is surprised when they see in a list of the acts that she is billed as Dominique, the American travesty performer. The most outgoing of the group, Laucha (the mouse, played by Alberto Olmedo) says that he doesn't believe it, and he could prove it.
A bet is agreed and a few nights later, The Mouse is set up with a date with Dominique. A romantic meal is arranged, interrupted only by a pushy photographer who takes their picture, and they end up at his place, but Dominique tells him the truth -- that she really is a woman pretending to be a man, to get work as a travesty performer. (The same plot is used in Victor/Victoria.)
After this outporing of honesty, the Mouse can't go through with it, and he and Dominique agree to make sound effects of having sex into the tape recorder that he had to take along, to prove to his friends what happened.
The title is shown in the actual film as Mi novia, el ...; the full title means "My girlfriend, the transvestite". It may have been released under the English title of Is She a He?.
