Lily Savage: Paying the Rent (1993, UK)
A film of a theatrical stand-up comedy routine by Paul O'Grady. O'Grady successfully adopted the female stage persona of Lily Savage, a cheap Liverpudlian woman; he hosted BBC television quiz shows in that persona remarkably successfully, and fairly convincingly in the female mode. In his stage work, the humour was more coarse and over-the-top, as was his appearance, and (as audiences seem to expect) the f-word is frquently in use. The stage performance is toppedand tailed by him as an elderly female relative.
O'Grady has now given up performing as Lily Savage.
