The Lemon Drop Kid (1951)

Bob Hope in the old ladies' home
Later Bob Hope films were more consistent than this comedy; Hope is a cheap racetrack tipster and tout, and suddenly owes a lot of money to a gangster. Part of the means of getting out of this problem involves setting up a charitable home for old ladies, but this is soon taken over as a good cover by the gangsters. Hope tries to infiltrate the home to get some cash by posing as an old lady himself.
