Leaving Metropolis (2002)

David is a painter whose success has bought him fame, money and insulation from the experiences that inspired him to paint. He decides he needs to get out into the real world again and takes a job in a small cafe as a waiter. The last thing he expects is to fall in love with Matt, part of the husband and wife couple that own the cafe.

Surrounding this increasingly tense love triangle is an interesting motley crew, Sharon is a transsexual waiting for her final operation. Kryla is an embittered journalist who resents David's creative success and most recent romance. Matt's wife Violet likes him because ... well...he's so dependably predictable. Love, hate, life and death all have a place in this wonderful film.
