A powerful film about life under the Taliban. Towards the end of the film, the male lead Amir, who has adopted a western lifestyle, returns to Afghanistan and meets Assef, a rival since childhood. It has become evident that Assef has been sexually abusing Amir's son, Sohrab, who has been in a children's home in Kabul. Amir persuades Assef to have Sohrab brought before them and Sohrab does a little girlish dance. A subscriber to Wikipedia states that Sohrab does this "dressed in women's clothes", but this is hardly borne out in viewing the film.
