King Arthur Was a Gentleman (1942, UK)

Arthur gets to see Gwen
A wartime comedy starring Arthur Askey. He joins the army and discovers a sword that he takes to be the ancient lost sword of King Arthur. On active service, he discovers that the sword seems to have magical powers, but then the powers wane.

He suddenly realises that he might be King Arthur himself -- his character's name is Arthur King -- and that he must woo Gwen Duncannon, as a substitute for Guinevere. This realisation comes on him so suddenly that he must find her immediately. On being refused entry to the women's quarters by the sentry, his only way forward is to pretend to be a female soldier himself.
