The Kitchen (1997, Hong Kong)

Emma in the kitchen
A touching, but rather slow, tale of human relationships; in a Hong Kong family, Aggie has lost her grandfather and Louie, her half-brother comes back from Japan to Hong Kong to be with her.

The father has transitioned and is now their mother, Emma, played by Law Kar-ying, although very little is made of this in the film except when a boorish man is "wooing" her.

The Cantonese title is Wo ai chu fang and the Mandarin title is Ngo Oi Chui Fong.
