Slightly laboured film about a straight man who becomes the sub-tenant of a very "out" gay man, and for a while without realising. When he does work it out, some fairly obvious reactions and tensions are shown; however he stays in the flat and a friendship develops.
In fact he helps his landlord learn his lines for a play, and then he is manipulated into taking over the part himself ... after all he knows the lines by now. The part is that of a gay man, and the action includes a gay kiss on stage. The straight man's straitlaced parents find out their son is acting in a play, and enthusiastically come along, and are shocked at what they see.
All pretty hackneyed stuff, really, and to add to the cliches, there is this transvestite on the lookout for a bed partner.
