A difficult and violent film. There is an alert when two violent prisoners escape from the nearby jail. We see a family in their home; a daughter arrives home late at night and says that the whole are is alive with police, and roadblocks are everywhere because of the escape. Ten minutes later, there is a knock at the door, so the father goes to the door and opens it, while looking back into the hallway. So you just know that this film is not going to try to be realistic.
This ordinary family have a dungeon in their basement (with at least eight empty cells) so the two killers get the tables turned on them. There is quite a lot that is unexplained in this film, and the idea seems to be that even in "normal" families, the family members idolise violent killers.
The film is supposed to include a transvestite member but this (pic) is the nearest we get to transgender.
It has an alternative title, Real Killers.
