Kika (1993, Spain)

Another of Pedro Almodóvar's offerings about crime and relationships in the seamier side of Madrid, revolving around a cosmetologist by the name of Kika. The costume design was by Jean-Paul Gaultier and some of the outfits are quite erotic.

The transwoman Bibí Andersen has a special place in Almodóvar's esteem, and she appears here as Susanna. There is a German dubbed version, and the people who did the dubbing quite unreasonably gave her a deep voice.
