Karneval (1998, France)

Larbi is a young Frenchman of Algerian parents. He's bored with his work at his brother's garage, and with the grey weather of northern France.

He takes up with Bea, who is married, and sometimes faithful and sometimes not. Bea's husband is dressed in female clothes as part of a carnival event, but he's very drunk.
