Journey to the Unknown: Miss Belle (1970, UK)

Journey to the Unknown was a British series by Hammer Films with mysterious events in the plot.

This episode ran as follows:

George Maharris plays an out of work American looking for a job and gets hired as a handyman, in a household where an aunt and her niece live. A few days later while the aunt is away, Maharris is watering the garden and playing with the niece, and she gets her dress wet. While she is changing Maharris sees a reflection of "her" in the mirror and knows she is a boy. He tells him so and the boy then cuts some of his hair. The aunt fires Maharris and he goes to the police who come around and ask the kid point blank if he is a boy or a girl. With the aunt present he says a girl and the police leave.
