A film version of the autobiography of the French filmmaker Jacquot Demy. In 1930s France, Jacquot is fascinated by cinema. When he gets his own film camera he persuades his young friends to be the actors; adults are happy to help him.
There is an extended sequence following this theme, in the later part of the film.
He films several scenes, not always successfully -- this scene was badly overexposed.
