A woman's son is kidnapped so as to coerce her into carrying out a theft. It's all so convoluted that it just isn't remotely believable. The worst for me was when they were in the back of a closed van, being driven by a baddy. They noticed that the driver had jumped out; so they broke through the small window between the load compartment and the driver's area, and took over the steering wheel. During all this time the van stayed perfectly on the roadway; suddenly this main interstate road had one of those red and white "road closed" barriers that you only ever see in films and they crash through it and on to rough ground. The van lurches to a halt; naturally no-one is hurt, not even a scratch. The van, which was undamaged immediately before, now has its roof buckled in, even though it stayed upright in the shot we see -- no doubt in one of the rehearsal takes it turned over.
Early in Jane's task, she has to go to see Peter, an armaments expert. She encounters a young woman at the designated place; "I'm looking for Peter," she says. "You're standing in front of him," says the woman, (played by Christina Cox). [Dialogue translated back from dubbed German.]
Later a businessman at the heart of all the shenanigans is watching a home video of himself and a Cuban transvestite having fun, on an office television. The Cuban transvestite is played by Leandro Astudillo; s/he is only seen briefly, and distorted in the television.
The film was also released as Runaway Jane.
